The Cincinnati Bengals are hitting their stride as we move into the final stretch of the 2022 regular season. They pushed their winning streak to five games with a convincing victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 14, pushing their record to 9-4 on the season.
At the heart of this great run is quarterback Joe Burrow. The No. 1 overall pick from the 2020 NFL Draft is putting together another excellent campaign. After a rocky start to the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when he threw four interceptions, Burrow has thrown only five interceptions in the next 12 games compared to 25 touchdowns.
For the second straight season with Burrow healthy at the helm, the Bengals have one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. They are seventh in points scored and fifth in yardage gained as Burrow is surrounded by an excellent group of skill position players.
Running backs Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine, wide receivers JaâMarr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd and tight end Hayden Hurst is one of the best groupings you can find in the league. Burrow takes full advantage of the strong supporting cast around him as he is second in the NFL with 27 passing touchdowns this season. Only Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs with 33 has more.
But, one thing that Burrow has trumped Mahomes in when it comes to passing touchdowns is consecutive games he has thrown one in. Right now, Burrow has the longest active streak in the NFL with 20 straight games with at least one touchdown pass thrown.
The last time that Burrow failed to throw a touchdown in a game was in Week 9 of the 2021 season on the road against the Cleveland Browns. For whatever reason, the Bengals have not been able to figure things out on the road against Cleveland, who have won five straight when hosting Cincinnati.
