What to Expect from Stefon Diggs in 2020

The expectations should be considerable for Stefon Diggs considering the significant compensation the Bills sent to the Vikings in order to be able to pull off the deal.

Diggs has already showed what he can do as a top target in a team’s offense, so the focus shouldn’t be on whether he can fill that type of role or not. Instead, it remains to be seen how he can stack up with other top targets when evaluating these players across the NFL.

ESPN recently released their league-wide projections for every offensive player ahead of the 2020 season. The projection for Diggs during his first season with the Bills is that he ends with 100 targets, 63 receptions, 952 yards, and five touchdowns.

Interestingly enough, the projection for Diggs’ production in 2020 by ESPN is anticipating him to experience a considerable decline in receiving yards and a slight dip in touchdowns. That’s despite the expectation of an increase in targets.

When looking at the Bills’ receiving corps around Diggs, there should be no shortage of room for him to either at least sustain his production or increase it.

Buffalo has a genuine chance to not only win the AFC East but to go deep in the playoffs. That almost certainly won’t be the case if Diggs is unable to make the expected impact the team envisioned when they decided to trade for him.
