Brett Favre shares how the Packers should use Jordan Love immediately

The Green Bay Packers made a shocking decision to trade up in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love. It was a surprising move considering the current presence of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Many thought the Packers would focus on adding more talent around Rodgers. They passed up on a chance to take Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins. Love is obviously the quarterback of the future in Green Bay.

While he may be the quarterback of the future, many think the Packers could try to find ways to utilize Love now. Brett Favre, the legendary Packers’ quarterback, also spoke out about how they could use him in 2020.

“I think there’s ways to incorporate it much like Taysom Hill with the Saints,” Favre told TMZ.com. “Use him as a halfback, a halfback pass, but occasionally let him run it just to show that you’ll do that. Something like that.”

Love very well could see time on the field as a rookie if the Packers choose to go this route. It would certainly open up the playbook a bit for second-year head coach Matt LaFleur.

Others don’t think the Packers should use Love in that kind of a role. They think that using him as a trick player would be dangerous for his future in the NFL. A potential injury would be devastating after just trading up for him.

No matter what the Packers choose to do with Love for now, he is going to be their future at quarterback. Rodgers is likely going to have to finish his career elsewhere as well. It is another Aaron Rodgers-Brett Favre situation all over again in Green Bay.

Expect to hear a lot of speculation about the Packers and how they might use Jordan Love as the season continues drawing closer. He may not end up carving out this kind of a role, but it is definitely a possibility.
