Brett Favre speaks out about Tom Brady possibly signing with Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been aggressive in their pursuit of superstar quarterback Tom Brady this offseason. It appears that they actually have a legitimate chance of landing the “Great of All-Time.” Now, NFL legend and former Green Bay Packers superstar Brett Favre has shared his thoughts on the potential move.

Favre shared his thoughts on Brady ending up with the Buccaneers on SiriusXM Radio.

“I’m not surprised. When I heard the news, I didn’t get chill-bumps, but I almost did. I could feel the hair on the back of my neck standing up because this is a shocker to a lot of people. The things that he has done in New England and what he has meant to that – not just the team, but the fan base – goes without saying. I mean, the best that’s ever played. And the good thing is that he has the ability to make any decision he chooses whether he wants to play or doesn’t want to play, whether it be in New England or somewhere else. He deserves that. Just a class act. Just a tremendous football player and leader.”

Brady absolutely would love the weapons he would have to work with in Tampa Bay. Mike Evans is one of the best wide receivers in the game and Chris Godwin has improved to become a star as well. If the Buccaneers can bring in a legitimate running back, they could be a lethal all-around offense.

Rumblings have been coming out for over a year now that Brady is starting to regress due to age. However, his numbers from 2019 suggest otherwise.

During the 2019 season with the Patriots, Brady completed 60.8 percent of his pass attempts for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Those numbers may not be huge like we have become used to from Brady, but he also didn’t have the weapons he is used to. The Buccaneers definitely shouldn’t be worried about those numbers.

It will be interesting to see where Brady ends up signing. The Buccaneers are definitely in the running and Favre likes the potential fit.

Expect to hear more about Brady’s next NFL chapter in the near future. With free agency opening on Wednesday, things are going to get crazy. Fans of the Buccaneers should be on the edge of their seats for this one.
