Denver Broncos: 3 Best Performances from Week 2 vs. Raiders

USA TODAY Sports

Phillip Lindsay: 14 Carries, 107 Rushing Yards, 1 Reception, 4 Receiving Yards

Phillip Lindsay looks like he’ll be a mainstay weapon in the Broncos offense. Lindsay had the most touches for all of the Broncos running backs, which shows how much they love the guy. Royce Freeman, the other runner for the Broncos, ran it just eight times for 28 yards and a touchdown.

It seems like the Broncos will use their tailbacks according to their opponent’s defensive game plan. Through two weeks, it seems to be working, as their run game has been very good. In the first two games of the season, the Broncos have rushed for 314 yards.

That’ll definitely help you win games.

Now back to Lindsay’s performance, it was another impressive game for the undrafted rookie out of Colorado. Lindsay became the first undrafted rookie to have 100-or-more scrimmage yards in his first two starts in NFL history. That’s an impressive feat, especially for a guy who had to come in and prove himself even more than other guys.

Lindsay looks like he can be a very dynamic back for the Broncos going forward. He can prove to be a huge weapon in deciding whether or not this team makes the postseason. If he can continue his success, it will be hard not to give him more touches as the season wears on.

Lindsay is definitely a guy Broncos fans will be rooting for the remainder of the year. He’ll be looking to continue his impressive start, next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
