The Denver Broncos are a team that everyone has their eyes on this offseason. They are the team connected most to an Aaron Rodgers trade, especially after they hired Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, to be their head coach.

Upgrading at the quarterback position with the acquisition of Rodgers would likely make the Broncos contenders despite being in a loaded AFC West division. He would help them keep up with the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders who start Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and Derek Carr at quarterback.

Denver will have the opportunity to upgrade its roster in a big way this offseason. Even if they are unable to pry Rodgers out of Green Bay, they are projected to have the sixth most cap space in the NFL and can make some moves in free agency.

Given the explosive offenses, they are going to see throughout the regular season, shoring up the defense would be a good place to start. The Broncos traded long-time EDGE player Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams last season and could use a replacement for him.

Over at CBS Sports, an article was put together detailing a free agent that each team in the NFL should prioritize. For the Broncos, the selection was Chandler Jones, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals.

Jones would be an excellent replacement for Miller, as he has shown he has plenty of juice left as a pass rusher. The Cardinals’ all-time leader for sacks, Jones gets after the quarterback relentlessly. He has double-digit sacks in seven out of his 10 seasons in the NFL and in one of those seasons he missed, he played only five games

Bringing Jones in as a bookend to Bradley Chubb would help elevate this pass rush to the next level. Denver also has good pass rushers in Shelby Harris, Dre’Mont Jones and Malik Reed who all recorded at least five sacks last season.

You can never have too many pass rushers and the Broncos would have a solid collection of them on their defense with Jones. Almost 32-years old, he is likely looking for a place he can contend for a ring. Denver, especially if they can land Rodgers first, would be that place.
