As good as the acquisition of Hooker would be for the Browns, there’s a certain safety that wears green that would be a home-run addition for Cleveland. Amid his impasse in contract talks with the New York Jets, Jamal Adams could be nearing the end of his tenure in the Big Apple.

In a league that values versatile safeties exponentially, Adams has become arguably the best safety in the NFL. Just this past season, the All-Pro safety showed off his versatility by notching 75 tackles, seven tackles, 6.5 sacks, one interception, and two defensive touchdowns.

Regardless of where Adams is playing, he will want to become the highest-paid safety in the NFL — and deservedly so. Seeing that the Browns have a boatload of cap space in the coming years, signing Adams wouldn’t be an issue for them.
