Happy Body, Happy Mind

There were multiple sources that mentioned Mayfield’s lack of care for his body last season, and there is a reasonable argument to be made that he was not in good enough football shape to perform at his highest level during the 2019 season.

Keep an eye out for Mayfield’s strength and endurance, and if he appears to be in improved shape from the previous season. With a unique and shortened training camp, players are going to need to be more disciplined than in past years, and a player with Mayfield’s tendencies will need to take extra care of his body and his mind moving forward.

With the pressure turned up on Baker Mayfield this season, he is expected to produce a season closer to his rookie season than his sophomore season.

It’s going to be interesting to see if he can step up and turn the Brown’s 2019 offensive struggles into a high-powered offense that they can be relied upon throughout the 2020 season.
