4. Release Terrance Mitchell

Mitchell is in the final year of his three-year deal with the Browns. He has played in 23 games over the last two seasons, making 11 starts. Heading into the 2020 season, it is looking like Mitchell will be playing a backup role.

The Browns feature Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams on the outside. They also added Kevin Johnson to the secondary. Cleveland has been hit with the injury bug during camp so far.

Grant Delpit suffered an Achilles injury that will require surgery. Williams and Johnson are also banged up to begin practices. When everyone is healthy, Mitchell will likely be the fourth cornerback.

Mitchell is set to make $2.5 million in 2020 and will carry a cap hit of $3.6 million. The Browns could save this money and release Mitchell prior to the season. It is a hefty price for a fourth corner so the decision could be on teh horizon.
