3. Trade Olivier Vernon
It has been a year and a half since the Browns acquired Vernon from the New York Giants in return for guard Kevin Zeitler. Vernon saw great success as a Giant totaling 22 sacks in 29 games but he did not see the same production in year one with the Browns.
Vernon played just 10 games in 2019 and finished 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He is set to be a free agent following the 2020 season. This is a great chance for the Browns to cut ties early and get something in return.
This would also allow the Browns some more cap space to throw some money at another defensive end that is still on the market.
Vernon will carry an $11 million cap hit for the upcoming season. This is another hefty price tag for the Browns that they could afford to get rid of.
