Browns RB Nick Chubb Named Most Underrated NFL Player
It has become abundantly clear that Nick Chubb is one of the NFL’s elite running backs. There are bigger named players that receive more attention than the Cleveland Browns standout, but it can certainly be debated that he has emerged as a better player.
During a recent segment of NFL Total Access, the panel each made their pick for most underrated player in the league. LaDanian Tomlinson stayed true to his former position and chose a running back by naming Chubb. It is certainly a justifiable choice considering the numbers.

Tomlinson made it clear that Chubb’s power-running style will translate to major results in 2020. In fact, the NFL legend believes the Browns running back will end up leading the league in total rushing yards. Considering he finished second last season, that’s not far-fetched to say.
The power running ability Chubb possesses is nothing short of impressive. A stat from PFF perfectly puts it into perspective, too. Since 2006, Chubb is the only running back to average at least four yards after contact per carry not just in a single-season, but for his career.
Another stat from PFF that highlights Chubb’s ability to break tackles is that no player forced more missed tackles (79) than him in 2019. This trait has enabled him to thrive despite having a less than stellar offensive line. After pivotal changes in the offseason, the potential is intriguing.
It will be fascinating to see the volume of production Nick Chubb manages to achieve with the Browns in 2020. Having Kareem Hunt in the backfield for the whole season could result in somewhat of a reduction for Chubb. Regardless, he will be a frequent option in Stefanski’s offense.
