3. Attitude
Baker Mayfield made some enemies in the media during the Browns’ last place finish in the AFC North last season. He was seen walking out of press conferences and did not answer routine questions. His attitude is currently viewed as a negative, but let’s try and look at it the other way.
There have been many players over the years that have received negative press because of their reactions. Tom Brady is seen as a leader when he is on the sideline yelling at teammates. Odell Beckham Jr. was labeled passionate during his New York Giants days. Mayfield is exactly the same. While his cooperation will have to improve post game, his will to win sticks out on the sidelines.
This was visible in college. Mayfield took actions personally. Remember when he lit up Kansas after they refused to shake his hand? Mayfield planted a flag at midfield after a victory against Ohio State. This was to the dismay of many, but that is the fiery competitor that he is.
If Mayfield can put it all together in 2020, he can put up some big numbers. Whether you like or dislike him, Mayfield has the passion and the urge to be a winning player in the league.
