Beckham Jr. is Healthy Once Again
While there are plenty of factors that should help Odell Beckham Jr. produce a strong 2020 campaign, none are more important than the fact that he’s finally healthy.
Last season, Beckham Jr. played through a sports hernia and also underwent surgery during the offseason to repair a core muscle injury. Both injuries appear to have limited him, and that became clear starting in Week 8 when his name was first listed on the Browns’ injury report.
During an interview with ESPN Staff Writer Jake Trotter, Beckham Jr. detailed the impact injuries had on him throughout last season. It was impacting him as early as the third week of training camp.
“So last year I was training in June and July, and I was kind of just feeling stuff around the groin area, abs and stuff like that,” he said. “My third week of training camp, I tear a little piece of my ab. So before the season, I kind of had the hernia thing going on. Sports hernia is what they call it. End up at the end of the season, torn abductor, torn rectus abdominis on the right.
Beckham went on to say that he believes he’s now ‘bigger, strong, faster,’ and he expects the 2020 season to be one of his best. Expecting improved results from that alone seems safe before even factoring in the favorable developments in his supporting cast.
