The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a splash this offseason by signing Tom Brady in free agency. They followed that up by getting Rob Gronkowski to come out of retirement to team up with his former teammate.
Gronkowski did not play at all during the 2019 season and was limited in his impact when he last played. Back in 2018, he appeared in 13 games (11 starts) and recorded 72 targets, 47 receptions, 682 yards, and three touchdowns.
There is plenty of reason for excitement when it comes to the Buccaneers but it remains to be seen whether they will emerge as a legitimate contender. Tampa Bay certainly has the necessary talent to get it done on-paper.
The thought of being able to pair Brady and Gronkowski with dynamic receivers like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans is an intriguing though, nevertheless. The potential is certainly high for the offense and the new additions must thrive for it to come to fruition.
Taking all of that into consideration, let’s dive into what we can expect from Rob Gronkowski during his return to the NFL.
