Bucs Have One Of The Best LB Groups
While all the talk has been about the Buccaneers’ offense, its defense is no joke either.
The linebacker group is one of, if not, the best in the whole league. Shaquil Barrett was the NFL’s leader in sacks last season with 19.5. Lavonte David, one of the more underrated linebackers in the league, had 123 total tackles last year, which was 16th most in the NFL.
Devin White will be going into his second year in the league and had a very strong rookie campaign. He racked up 91 tackles, as well as four fumble recoveries, two of them returned for touchdowns. Roudning out the group is Jason Pierre-Paul, who shifted to linebacker last season after playing his career as an edge. He contributed 8.5 sacks in 2019 and provides another option as a pass rusher.
With Barrett in a prove-it year with the franchise tag and White getting more comfortable in the NFL, this group should give opposing offense fits all season long.
