Buffalo Bills Could Look To Add Former Cowboys’ Playmaker

The Buffalo Bills are in need of offensive playmakers, and they could turn to a former Dallas Cowboys star to help themselves in that area.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder thinks the Bills should pursue wide receiver Michael Gallup, who was recently released by the Cowboys.

This certainly makes sense for Buffalo, seeing as how the Bills lost Gabe Davis to free agency and then traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

That leaves Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel as Buffalo’s top two receivers at the moment, which is certainly not an enviable situation.

While Gallup is definitely not the same player he was several years ago, he could at least add some depth to a Bills receiving corps that sorely needs it.

Gallup played in every game this past season, logging 34 catches for 418 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Colorado State, was selected by Dallas in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He had a decent rookie campaign, catching 33 passes for 507 yards and a pair of scores. He then broke out in his sophomore year, hauling in 66 receptions for 1,107 yards while reaching the end zone six times.

Gallup slowed down a bit in 2020, snaring 59 balls for 843 yards and five touchdowns. Then, the following year, he missed time with a calf injury and then tore his ACL. He has not been the same since.

The Atlanta native has failed to crack 500 yards in any of his past three seasons, and although he has a 1,000-yard campaign under his belt, he is a far cry from reaching that level at this stage.

However, the Bills are strapped for cash, so they may have to settle for a depth signing like Gallup.
