2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton has had a groundbreaking college and professional career, but the past two years have been mostly forgettable. Since leading the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 record and disappointing Super Bowl loss against the Broncos, his stock has never been lower. Now, he will look bounce back with the New England Patriots.

Injuries have derailed an otherwise promising career and jeopardized his career which has thrived due to an exceptionally physical style of play. His two most recent and significant ailments have afflicted his shoulder and a Lisfranc injury to his foot, which has caused him to miss 16 of the last possible 18 games.

However, the New England Patriots have taken a low-risk flier on Newton with a 1-year deal worth up to $7.5 million in salary and incentives, which could hopefully lead to the revitalization of his once-dominant play. He is expected to earn the starting role over the unproven 2nd-year fellow Auburn Tiger Jarrett Stidham, but expectations for the 2020 season are varied amongst fans and experts alike.

All things considered, what facts should you know about the new Patriots QB heading into the season?
