1. Developing with the Receivers outside of Larry Fitzgerald
We need to face reality. Fitzgerald won’t be around forever despite what he keeps doing at his age. As much as the future Hall of Famer is necessary for the offense’s success, it’s time for the team to find his heir apparent.
Christian Kirk looks to be that option so far in the season. He’s leading the team with 418 receiving yards and is second on the team in receptions with 33. The former Aggie has great chemistry with Rosen and should continue this success.
However, the receiving options at that position are limited after Fitzgerald and Kirk. In an interview talking about Rosen, 1983 NFL MVP, Joe Theismann asked where the rest of the targets are after the number one guy.
Unless you have the people around you, you’ve got an issue. He does have David (Johnson) in the backfield, but who is he throwing the football to? Where’s your next option after Larry? Where’s the speed outside?
Building a better rapport with the receivers outside of the veteran will help Rosen not only this season but also in the long-term when Fitzgerald calls it a career. If he wants to get the most out of himself, then he’ll need to get the most out of the guys around him.
