Allow fewer than 40 sacks
With Murray as Arizona’s prized possession moving forward, protecting him needs to be a priority for the Cardinals. In his first year under center, Murray was sacked a total of 48 times. Altogether, Arizona’s offensive line allowed 50 sacks last season (tied for fifth-most in the NFL).
On top of that, Murray experienced 127 combined pressures in 2019. Which were the 13th most among quarterbacks in the NFL. Nevertheless, with the Cardinals inking D.J. Humphries to a lucrative extension, re-signing Marcus Gilbert, signing Kelvin Beachum, and drafting Josh Jones this offseason, they are confident that their offensive line is built for success in 2020.
In recent seasons, Arizona has left a lot to be desired when it comes to pass protection. Therefore, with the team seemingly making improvements to the offensive line, the Cardinals should strive to allow fewer than 40 sacks in the upcoming season. It would be the first time that Arizona would surrender fewer than 40+ sacks since the 2015 season.
