4. Safety
The Cardinals decided to move on from Tyrann Mathieu, but they may still have a star at safety in Budda Baker.
Baker excelled in his rookie season after replacing the injured Tyvon Branch for the final seven games. He racked up 61 tackles, two forced fumbles, a sack, a fumble recovery, and six passes defended.
Head coach Steve Wilks is set to take advantage of the former Washington Huskies’ versatility in 2018, with Baker to receive snaps down near the line of scrimmage as well as on the back end.
While what looks poised to be a strong career is just starting for Baker, Antoine Bethea is approaching the end of his, though he proved he still has value by recording five interceptions last year.
Tre Boston has also been astutely added into the mix by the Cardinals on a one-year deal. According to Pro Football Focus, Boston allowed just three receptions on 12 targeted passes in 2017.
