The biggest key to beating the Falcons is limiting wide receiver Julio Jones, and Panthers cornerback James Bradberry did all he could on Sunday. Jones finished with just five catches for 64 yards while also being kept out of the end zone.

Although his team didn’t get the win, Bradberry deserves a lot of credit for how he played against one of the league’s premier receivers. It’s no easy task going up against the likes of Jones, the Bengals’ A.J. Green, the New York Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown.

Bradberry will match up against all of those guys this season, but it’s a role he relishes. Here’s what he recently told The Charlotte Observer:

“That’s why we all play football, just coming in here and playing sports in general, is to be competitive and have fun out there.”

“And that’s what I find fun, is going against the best.”

Against Jones, Bradberry put his money where his mouth is. It was a successful first test for a guy who is hoping to become known as one of the NFL’s elite corners.
