The Panthers’ defense was on the field a lot on Sunday, making what it was able to accomplish even more impressive. Carolina didn’t record any takeaways, but it did hold Philadelphia in check while the offense was making its historic comeback.

As the team’s middle linebacker, Luke Kuechly is the quarterback of the defense. And he was certainly at the top of his game on Sunday.

Kuechly finished with a team-high 14 tackles (12 solo) and he also registered a sack and four tackles for loss. In addition, he teamed with safety Mike Adams to keep Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey from making a touchdown catch on third down in the game’s final minute.

The Panthers’ top defensive player was a monster against the Eagles, especially in the fourth quarter. When the game was on the line, Kuechly stepped up and made sure Carolina came away with a monumental win.
