Curtis Samuel, Wide Receiver
Cam Newton is one of the Panthers’ top performers most weeks, but this week I’ve decided to give Curtis Samuel the nod over Carolina’s talented quarterback. The Panthers’ second-year wide receiver had a strong performance on Sunday both through the air and on the ground.
Samuel two catches for 25 yards and a touchdown, and he also carried the ball once for 33 yards. However, his lone carry of the day also saw him cross the goal line on one of the most sensational plays of the entire 2018 NFL season:

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Samuel covered 103.9 yards of ground on his 33-yard TD run. He showed how quick and elusive he can be while scoring one of the Panthers’ five first-half TDs.
Samuel also caught a 19-yard scoring strike from Newton with 9:04 remaining in the fourth quarter to extend the Panthers’ lead to 14 after the Buccaneers had cut it to seven early in the final period, capping a memorable day for the dynamic wideout.
