Carolina Panthers: 3 Players to Watch in Week 6 vs. Redskins

The Carolina Panthers are off to a 3-1 start to the 2018 NFL season, with their only loss thus far coming to the Atlanta Falcons on the road in Week 2. In two of their wins, they have defeated the bottom two teams in the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.

But both of those victories came at home, where the Panthers are 3-0 in 2018. Over the next two weeks, Carolina will hit the road to face the two best teams in the NFC East, the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles.

The Redskins are up first, as they host the Panthers on Sunday after losing 43-19 to the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. The loss dropped Washington to .500 at 2-2, but the jury’s still out on just how good this Redskins team is.

Over the first four games of the season, the Redskins have wins over the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers and losses to the Indianapolis Colts and Saints. So their results thus far have been a bit of a mixed bag.

The Panthers, on the other hand, have been fairly consistent. Their only loss was a 31-24 defeat at the hands of a division foe, while their biggest victory was a 31-21 win over the 3-1 Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3.

While Washington is favored on Sunday, that’s more because its the home team than anything. Carolina is strong on offense, defense and special teams, with the latter lifting the Panthers to last week’s 33-31 win over the Giants.

The Panthers also appear to be getting better with each passing week. And it looks like they will welcome two key players back in Week 6.

Here are three Panthers to watch in Sunday’s game against the Redskins.
