Carolina Panthers: 3 Players to Watch in Week 6 vs. Redskins

One player who will definitely return for the Panthers in Week 6 is veteran linebacker Thomas Davis. Davis was suspended for the first four games after failing a drug test because of an estrogen blocker he had taken for several years.

Due to the circumstances surrounding his failed drug test, Davis will likely be a man on a mission against the Redskins. You can read more of my thoughts on what his return to the Panthers means here, but in short, I definitely think his presence will have a great impact on the team’s already vaunted defense.

Look for Davis to make some big plays on Sunday. He’s a fresh player, a motivated player and an experienced player, which will only better what is arguably the Panthers’ deepest position.

Surrounding Davis are fellow linebackers Luke Kuechly and Shaq Thompson, a stout defensive line and an ever-improving secondary. So all the tools are there for the man quarterback Cam Newton affectionately calls “The Mayor” to have a huge performance.
