CBS Sports Predicts Huge Playmaker To The Bills In Mock Draft

The 2022 NFL Draft is just about a month away. Soon, rumors will pick up about where prospects may land in the draft and what players that teams will be targeting with their selections. One team that could go in several directions based on how the board plays out ahead of them is the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo has the No. 25 overall pick in the first round and they very likely will take the best player available approach.

This is a deep roster with no glaring holes to fill following free agency. They could add some depth at some spots, but there is no reason to reach for a player at a specific position. That is the luxury of being a winning team with a strong roster, you can just pick based on value not need.

One area that they could look to address is wide receiver. They have a star in Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis had a breakout performance in the postseason. But, Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie were free agents and Cole Beasley could be a cap casualty.

Jamison Crowder was signed to help replace what was lost and is a solid slot receiver. However, the Bills offense could reach another level if things pan out as the mock draft at CBS Sports goes.

In that mock draft, the Bills selected Alabama wide receiver, Jameson Williams. Williams looked like the No. 1 prospect at the position all season, finishing with 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns. But, he has fallen down some draft boards because of a knee injury suffered in the National Championship Game.

With the addition of Crowder and already having Diggs and Davis in place, the Bills would be in no rush to get Williams on the field. They can allow him to rehab at his own pace with no pressure of getting onto the field at any point before he is 100 percent healthy.

Adding another weapon of that caliber to an offense led by Josh Allen is borderline unfair. Williams has No. 1 receiver, star type potential as the best deep threat in this year’s draft class. Getting him back in the mix the second half of the season would be bad news for opposing defenses who will struggle covering so many playmakers on offense.
