CBS Sports predicts the Saints will get massive steal in third round with K.J. Hamler

The New Orleans Saints are entering an interesting offseason for the future of their franchise. Drew Brees has made the decision to return for at least one more season. However, they are going to have to let Teddy Bridgewater walk in free agency.

Obviously, the Saints are going all-in to compete for a Super Bowl. That will include adding another weapon for Brees in the offense.

Michael Thomas is one of the top wide receivers in the entire NFL. Even with him on the roster, the Saints were looking for help at wide receiver at the trade deadline in 2019. They will be looking at wide receivers again this offseason.

CBS Sports has the Saints getting a massive steal in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by taking Penn State standout K.J. Hamler.

Hamler put together a solid 2019 season with the Nittany Lions. He caught 56 passes for 904 yards and eight touchdowns. New Orleans would be getting one of the fastest wide receivers in the draft class and a guy who can make plays down the field and in the open field.

Brees simply needs more talent around him. Ted Ginn Jr. has been solid, but Hamler would be a younger and more athletic version of him. He may even be able to help on special teams.

New Orleans will be an intriguing team to keep an eye on. They have a very limited amount of time left with Brees and they are going to do everything in their power to win another championship. Adding Hamler won’t be the move that powers them to a Super Bowl, but he would help.

If this does end up happening, the Saints would be getting one of the biggest steals of the draft. Hamler to New Orleans would be a scary thought for opposing defenses.
