CBS Sports predicts Vikings to trade Stefon Diggs to the Ravens

The Minnesota Vikings are entering an intriguing offseason, especially when it comes to the future of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Rumors have been swirling that the team could look to trade him and also that Diggs wants to be sent out of town via trade.

CBS Sports made a bold prediction in their latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft. They made the prediction that the Vikings will trade their star wide receiver to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a first-round pick that would be used to draft his younger brother, Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Minnesota trades Diggs back home to Baltimore in exchange for the No. 28 overall selection. Lamar Jackson gets another weapon to help stretch the field on offense. Meanwhile, the Vikings draft his younger brother with the pick acquired. Cornerback is a big need for them.

Diggs to the Ravens would make a ton of sense for Baltimore. They have the reigning NFL MVP in Lamar Jackson, but he needs more weapons. A duo of Diggs and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown would be lethal.

The Vikings would open up some cap space with this move. They are working with very little room. This would also help them get rid of a guy who seemingly caused some issues in the locker room and in the media last season.

Kirk Cousins and the Vikings’ offense would take a hit with this move. Diggs is one of the most dangerous receivers in the NFC, especially due to the presence of fellow star Adam Thielen. No team can cover both of them perfectly.

It will be interesting to see what actually ends up happening this offseason. Diggs could very well stay with Minnesota for another season. The Vikings aren’t going to make a trade just to move him and would have to get great value back in return.

Expect to hear a lot more speculation and quite a few rumors surrounding Diggs this offseason, but this scenario could make a lot of sense for both the Vikings and Ravens, as well as the receiver.
