With the Chicago Bears struggling to start the season, Matt Eberflus recently spoke about the rumors surrounding his job.

As we head into the fifth week of the season, one of the worst teams so far to start the season is the Chicago Bears. The Bears currently sit with a 0-4 record and have a tough game coming up on Thursday Night Football against the Washington Commanders.

The Commanders have looked pretty good so far this season, and getting a win on the road on Thursday Night Football is always a challenge. For the Bears’ head coach, Matt Eberflus, is well aware of what can happen if the struggles continue. Recently, he spoke about some of the struggles of the team.

“You know, in this business, I’ve been doing this 32 years right so I understand the business, but I understand that to do it right you’ve got to focus on your job and you’ve got to focus here, right now,” Matt Eberflus said on Wednesday.

“So you can think about a lot of different things that’s going to do nobody good, and you focus on your job of where your feet are right now and my sole focus is on Washington,” Eberflus added.

While the Bears weren’t expected to be a Super Bowl contender this season, they were expected to be taking some steps forward. One player in particular that they were hoping to see perform better is quarterback Justin Fields.

For the most part, Fields has struggled this season, which has resulted in the team struggling. However, he was able to put together his best game of the season against the Denver Broncos. The Commanders’ defense will be a tougher task for Fields to replicate that performance.

If Eberflus is going to keep his job, a lot of the eyes will be on the performance of Fields and the offense moving forward. The game against the Broncos was a step in the right direction, but Eberflus will need more to keep his job.
