Chicago Bears Named NFL’s Best Team In This Critical Area

The Chicago Bears have been very busy this offseason, addressing numerous holes on their roster heading into what should be an exciting 2024 campaign in the Windy City.

The Bears have been particularly adamant in rectifying their issues offensively, using free agency, trades and the NFL Draft to add pieces to what had previously been a rather poor offensive unit.

Chicago has done such great work over the past couple of months, as a matter of fact, that Pro Football Focus has named the Bears’ receiving corps the best group in the NFL.

Given that teams like the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals have dynamic receiving tandems, that is quite the honor to bestow upon Chicago.

The Bears entered the offseason with DJ Moore and not much else at wide receiver. They then went out and swung a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers to acquire Keenan Allen, and they proceeded to select Rome Odunze with the ninth overall pick of the draft.

That gives Chicago a potentially lethal trio of wide outs, as Moore broke out with 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns this past season, and Allen registered his sixth 1,000-yard campaign as well as his sixth Pro Bowl appearance.

Odunze is obviously unproven on the NFL level, but he is one of the best prospects of his draft class and is coming off of a fantastic 2023 campaign at Washington in which he caught 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 scores.

If Odunze is even able to scratch the surface of his seemingly limitless potential next season, the Bears may very well end up having the best group of receivers in football in 2024.

Of course, much of that will also depend on incoming rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, who Chicago selected with the No. 1 overall pick.

As great as the trio of Moore, Allen and Odunze appears on paper, it’s Williams’ job to deliver the ball to them, and if he is unable to do that consistently, it won’t matter how talented the Bears’ receivers are.

Still, for Chicago to go from the 20th-ranked offense in the league to looking like one of the most impressive heading into next season is a testament to just how great of a job general manager Ryan Poles and the rest of the Bears’ front office has done this offseason.
