Chiefs: 3 late free agency targets Kansas City should consider

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Carr

Just looking at Kansas City’s roster, the weakest link on their roster appears to be at the cornerback position. More specifically at the nickel cornerback position, following the exit of Kendall Fuller in free agency.

While the Chiefs brought back Bashaud Breeland and still have Charvarius Ward, they could use another cornerback in the secondary. In light of that, one name that makes sense is Brandon Carr — who played in Kansas City for the first four years of his career from 2008-2011.

After a five-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys, Carr was able to be a productive member of the Baltimore Ravens in the past three seasons. Even though Carr started in all 16 games last season, the Ravens used him in a variety of ways depending on matchups. Regardless of whether or not the Chiefs want to use Ward at nickel, adding Carr would be a wise move for the reigning Super Bowl champions.
