Clyde Edwards-Helaire Was Nearly Unstoppable in Week 1

The rookie running back of the Kansas City Chiefs, Clyde Edwards-Helaire finished with 25 carries for 138 yards rushing with one touchdown. In his debut game for the Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire averaged 5.5 yards per carry and had a long rush of 27 yards, which was his touchdown run.

That is a way to make a name for himself, and think about this: Edwards-Helaire is a winner on the football field.

In his final game at the collegiate level, he was winning a national championship with the LSU Tigers, and now he’s a big part in helping the Chiefs in their quest to repeat as Super Bowl champions, which was last accomplished by the New England Patriots.

A reason why Edwards-Helaire proved he’s on his way to being a superstar in Week 1 against the Texans is he looked poised from the start, and to be honest, Edwards-Helaire didn’t play like a rookie.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid showed his confidence is great in Edwards-Helaire, and he meshed well with Mahomes, so if these two continue being on the same page, the rest of the league needs to be on high alert.

The Chiefs and Edwards-Helaire are going to rack up a lot of yards and points as they continue their success, and in the process, they’ll make Edwards-Helaire a household NFL superstar.
