2. Lawrence Uses His Legs More

As a whole, Clemson could turn toward the ground game more in 2020. With Tee Higgins entering the NFL and Justyn Ross being ruled out for the season, the Tigers need time to fully assimilate their new pass-catchers.

With Travis Etienne returning for his senior year and Lyn-J Dixon also remaining on the team, Clemson’s running game is ready to rumble in 2020. Lawrence could become the third wheel in this attack and possibly even out-rush Dixon.

Lawrence significantly increased his role on the ground last year. The Clemson quarterback carried the ball 103 times for 563 yards and nine touchdowns. His surprising speed and athleticism often catch defenses off guard, generating first downs and miraculous plays.

However, Lawrence could also find himself running out of necessity more this coming season. Clemson lost guards Tremayne Anchrum and John Simpson to the NFL Draft. Simpson was a Consensus All-American last season.
