Emmanuel Ogbah, Defensive End
Myles Garrett will get most of the headlines when discussing the Browns’ defensive line in 2018, but don’t forget about Emmanuel Ogbah. The third-year defensive end was improving weekly before suffering a Lisfranc injury in November against the Jaguars. In 10 games last year, he registered 29 tackles, four sacks, and six batted balls at the line of scrimmage.
Ogbah also could be the reason the Browns didn’t feel forced to draft Bradley Chubb in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Browns went with Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield at No. 1 and Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward at No. 4 overall rather than opting to take the talented pass rusher out of N.C. State. General Manager John Dorsey must believe Ogbah opposite Garrett will be able to generate enough pass rush for this defense. With Garrett commanding the majority of the double teams from opposing offensive lines, Ogbah has the opportunity to take advantage of 1 on 1’s and take his game to the next level in 2018.
