Jarvis Landry, Wide Receiver

Landry is one of those receivers you miss during games but after checking the stat sheet you noticed he burned you for 12 catches. While he may not hit the end zone or torch you for 150 yards, he’s one of the best possession receivers in the NFL. While with the Miami Dolphins, Landry hauled in 400 passes in 64 games. He’s surpassed the 1,000-yard mark twice and has never caught less than 84 passes in a season. But yet, the Dolphins decided he wasn’t the right fit for them. Go figure!

Now he heads to the Cleveland Browns to pair with Josh Gordon and Tyrod Taylor for what could be an explosive Browns’ offense in 2018.

What makes Landry more important than Gordon is that many want to know if Landry was just held back due to the conservative play calling of the Dolphins. Taylor has an arm and is pretty accurate at times so it will be interesting to see if Landry will be the “chain mover” the Browns have lacked for years.

If the running game is rolling, then having a security blanket like Landry will do wonders for Taylor’s confidence and free up ‘Go Routes’ for Gordon on the opposite side. The Browns may have struck gold with the Landry trade. While other receivers like Julio Jones and Antonio Brown may get all the accolades, Landry just suits up every Sunday and does what he does best–catch the ball.
