Cleveland Browns: The 3 Biggest Disappointments From 2019

Freddie Kitchens

David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

The biggest mistake the Cleveland Browns made in 2019 was Freddie Kitchens. It baffled fans, the NFL, and possibly the players as to why they didn’t give the job to Gregg Williams. When he replaced Hugh Jackson in the middle of the season last year, the Browns took off. And for a slight moment, there was even talk about the possibility of making the playoffs. Williams would take a 2-5-1 team at the time and go 5-3 the rest of the way. There was hope in Cleveland that the players finally brought into a system, but most of all, they finally had their coach.

Well, the offseason arrived and John Dorsey had other plans. Instead of going with the guy who had the hot hand, he elected to go cold and the end result, another missed opportunity. The moment to set a foundation was there and Dorsey dropped the ball. This may be a decision that will haunt the Browns for a few years if they continue to slip.
