The New York Giants are just 1-5 in a season that has gone completely off the rails for them. As for the Cleveland Browns, they are a borderline contender in the AFC right now. Perhaps the two teams could come together on a big-time Saquon Barkley trade.
The Giants entered 2023 full of hope, as they were coming off of a 2022 campaign in which they went 9-7-1, made their first playoff appearance in six years and won their first postseason game since last winning the Super Bowl in February 2012.
Most assumed that New York would at least be competitive throughout the year, but instead, the Giants have been one of the NFL’s worst teams through the first six weeks, and now, you have to wonder if they’ll try to move running back Saquon Barkley.
Big Blue failed to reach a long-term deal with Barkley prior to the season, meaning the star halfback will hit the free-agent market in the spring.
Given that the Giants are almost certainly not going to the playoffs, it may behoove them to move Barkley now to recoup some assets in return before letting him walk for nothing in the offseason.

The Browns went into the season with one of the NFL’s best running backs in Nick Chubb, but Chubb was lost for the year when he suffered a devastating knee injury in Week 2.
While Cleveland’s rushing attack has managed to get by without Chubb, the Browns would still certainly like to have another elite runner in their backfield.
Barkley may not be the same guy from several years ago, but he remains one of the league’s best halfbacks when he is healthy.
Of course, health has always been a big “if” for Barkley, as the 26-year-old has not played a full season since his rookie campaign in 2018 and missed Weeks 3 through 5 this year due to an ankle injury.
