Philip Rivers will lead the Colts to the Super Bowl
The Colts offense is built for the playoffs. They are built a lot like their AFC South division rival, the Tennessee Titans. Indianapolis can effectively run the ball, they have a strong front seven on the defense, and have receivers who are capable of making big plays.
The Colts’ offense under Jacoby Brissett was extremely conservative and lackluster. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, among all quarterbacks last season Brissett had the seventh-lowest average completed air yards. He lacks dynamic elements to his skill-set and lowers the ceiling of the offense when he’s on the field.
The Colts’ offense could open up significantly with a quarterback that will actually take shots downfield and has the talent to succeed doing it. There will be time to throw the ball and as long as they can stay healthy, the receiving talent will be there to make plays.
The one blemish on Rivers’ resume is his lack of a Super Bowl ring. While he may not be as talented as Andrew Luck, Rivers is an improvement over Brissett. Under him, it is very possible they win the AFC and get a chance to win the Super Bowl if their ceiling is reached.
