3. Skill Positions
Marlon Mack rushed for 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019. He was basically the only skill position player for the Colts to have a decent campaign. Zach Pascal led the team with 607 receiving yards. T.Y. Hilton played just 10 games and totaled 501 yards.
Indianapolis lacked a second running back. This is something they addressed in the draft by adding Jonathan Taylor. The Wisconsin product enjoyed a tremendous college career and now will be a candidate to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Along with Taylor, the Colts drafted Michael Pittman Jr. in the second round of the draft. These rookies will bring major upside and improvements to the offense immediately.
Along with Hilton being back, Parris Campbell is also returning from an injury. He played in just seven games due to a slew of injuries including a surgery on a sports hernia, a fractured hand, and a broken foot. Having Campbell back in the lineup will feel like an offseason addition. The Colts still have Jack Doyle at tight end along with Trey Burton, who signed a one-year deal in March.
Reich is an offensive coach who can put together a strong game plan with the right pieces to work with. In 2020, he will have those pieces available and ready for a big season.
