Michael Pittman Jr.
Pittman Jr, like Taylor, had immense success at the college level and emerged as one of the top receivers in college football during his senior season. He totaled 1,275 yards and 11 touchdowns on 101 catches, ranking 10th, 19th, and 4th in those categories, respectively.
His skills as a possession receiver is what puts him among the best in his draft class; he dropped just 2.8% of all catchable passes from 2016-2019 (per PFF). That put him in the top-five for any receiver in that span.
Pittman’s possession skills will fit right in for the Colts’ new quarterback, Phillip Rivers. Rivers is no stranger to getting the ball down the field; he through 75 passes over 20 yards in 2019. His deep ball completion percentage (30.7%) ranked among the worst in the NFL last year. Pittman’s possession receiver skills wills result in a great year of connections between the veteran QB and the rookie WR.
Rivers has a tendency to throw the ball into the “danger zone” when throwing deep, so Pittman is the perfect receiver for him. His ball skills and route running are perfect assets to make him Rivers’ primary target heading into 2020. This could lead to some huge numbers for the USC receiver during his rookie season.
