No. 1: Andrew Luck
Andrew Luck is finally back to actually playing football after a long rehab process. Luck had to undergo shoulder surgery after the 2016 season and was never able to fully recover until just a few weeks ago. Now that he’s back, the Colts are back too.
In 2017, the Colts finished just 4-12 on the season and were mostly irrelevant. That has led to many forgetting just how good Luck is and how much better he makes the team. A prime example of this is the 2012 team he took to the playoffs. That team was filled with below-average starters, and he turned the team around from No. 1 overall pick to a Wild Card match with the Baltimore Ravens.
Luck played the entire 2016 season with a torn labrum in his shoulder and still finished with 4,240 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
According to Warren Sharp’s 2018 Football Preview, in 2017, Lucks lost season, the Colts led at halftime in nine games. They only won two of those games, though. The Colts led in the fourth quarter eight of their first 11 games. They won only three of those games. The second half and fourth quarter were clearly a struggle for Indianapolis in 2017, but Luck has no problem excelling in the clutch. He has 13 career fourth-quarter comebacks and 17 game-winning drives.
The Colts have their three-time Pro Bowl quarterback back, and he’s enough to win them plenty of games alone.
