No. 3: Depth Along the Trenches
Another thing the Colts have that they haven’t in recent seasons is depth along the trenches on both sides of the ball.
The offensive line has been a weakness of the Colts for a long time, but general manager Chris Ballard addressed the issue this offseason, drafting an offensive lineman in each of the first two rounds and signing veteran Matt Slauson. The Colts now have plenty of depth and talent up front on offense. Anthony Castonzo, Quenton Nelson, Ryan Kelly and Slauson make for a better offensive line than Andrew Luck has ever had in his career. Behind them is Braden Smith, Joe Haeg, Deyshawn Bond, Le’Raven Clark and Denzelle Good.
Indianapolis has plenty of talent to keep Andrew Luck upright and healthy this season. They also have plenty of depth if injuries do strike the front five.
The Colts also have plenty of depth along their defensive line. Jabaal Sheard, Tarell Basham, John Simon, Chris McCain, Kemoko Turay, Margus Hunt, Grover Stewart, Al Woods, Hassan Ridgeway, Tyquan Lewis and Denico Autry make for plenty of competition and depth.
The Colts will be solid and deep up front on both sides of the ball this season.
