The Indianapolis Colts have already addressed their biggest need coming into the offseason. They had to figure out the quarterback position and they were able to do so.

Carson Wentz is now with the Washington Commanders, as the Colts traded him away after one season as the starting quarterback. Replacing him will be veteran Matt Ryan, who Indianapolis acquired from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a third-round pick.

Ryan should present a good upgrade on Wentz, who came up short when the team needed him most in 2021. While upgrading at quarterback was a necessity, this is still an offense that needs some help at a few spots to get them on par with reigning AFC South divisions champion, the Tennessee Titans.

The team could use some help in the trenches on the offensive line. Finding a left tackle, as Eric Fisher is a free agent, is imperative. However, over at The Athletic, a paid-subscription website, they are predicting that the Colts will get Ryan a new weapon to throw the ball to.

That new weapon would be Jarvis Landry. Landry was released by the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason and would be a great fit in the Colts’ offense. Michael Pittman Jr. emerged last season as a legitimate No. 1 receiver, but the team has very little beyond him to rely on.

They like Parris Campbell but his inability to remain healthy makes him difficult to rely on throughout the season. T.Y. Hilton seems to be on his last legs as well, so upgrading the weapons behind Pittman is high on the priority list as well.

Landry is an excellent slot receiver, giving Ryan a security blanket running short routes and working over the middle of the field. Despite some inconsistent quarterback play in Cleveland, Landry racked up 3,560 receiving yards in the last four seasons, which is the 19th most in the NFL among wide receivers.

Not afraid to mix it up, Landry is a physical receiver who gets involved in the run game. That is a perfect fit for Indianapolis, which has one of the best running backs in the league in Jonathan Taylor. Landry would certainly help clear some lanes for him as he has been doing for Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in recent seasons in Cleveland.
