Colts listed as a potential landing spot for Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys did not come to an agreement on a contract extension ahead of the Wednesday deadline, which means that he is scheduled to hit free agency next offseason. Now, it appears that the Indianapolis Colts could be a potential future landing spot for him.

According to SportsLine, the Colts have the third-highest odds of landing Prescott next offseason in free agency.

This would be a very intriguing landing spot for Prescott. Indianapolis went out in free agency this offseason and signed veteran quarterback Philip Rivers to a one-year, $25 million deal. He could come back for another year, but Prescott would be a better option.

During the 2019 season with the Cowboys, Prescott was being talked about as a potential MVP candidate at one point. He completed 65.1 percent of his pass attempts for 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

Chris Ballard and the Colts are always looking for ways to improve their team. Team owner Jim Irsay has big goals of winning multiple Super Bowls in the near future. Prescott could absolutely end up helping them towards that goal.

At 26 years old, Prescott is in the prime of his career. He is going to receive a massive contract from whoever ends up signing him. The Colts should have plenty of cap space to pursue the young star should they choose to do so.

Prescott would also fit in nicely with Frank Reich’s offense. He is capable of making big throws down the field and is accurate in the short and mid-game. Indianapolis certainly appears to be an ideal landing spot.

Ahead of the Colts on the list of potential Prescott suitors are the Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears. Both of those teams make sense, but the Colts are closer to competing for a championship. That could intrigue Prescott.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Dak Prescott. His relationship with the Cowboys could be in danger and the Colts might end up being a big-time winner in all of this.
