Could The Buffalo Bills Pursue A DeAndre Hopkins Trade?

Star wideout DeAndre Hopkins is expected to be traded this off-season, according to Yahoo Sports. There could be a potential dark horse team in play. That team? The Buffalo Bills.

The Bills were hoping Gabriel Davis would be the complimentary piece to Stefon Diggs as a wide receiver number two, and he did not fill that void. It showed down the stretch of the season, especially against Cincinnati in the divisional round. Buffalo could not get anything going with Diggs out of the picture being doubled and Hopkins could be the missing piece.

The Yahoo Sports article wrote, “The Bills need a 1B to Stefon Diggs’ 1A. Hopkins has shown that he is still capable of being a top-10 receiver in the game, it just won’t be in Arizona. Pairing him with Josh Allen and Diggs would greatly benefit Buffalo and Hopkins.”

Nonetheless, the Bills will still have to deal with other emerging suitors. Expect teams like the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, and the New York Giants to heavily pursue Hopkins.

Additionally, two other teams that could find themselves in the sweepstakes could be the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. If he landed with either team, it could completely change the landscape of the division, conference, and league.

For the Cardinals’ sake, the Bears seem like the most plausible option. They have the cap space to eat Hopkins’ salary, have all of their draft picks, including the first overall selection in each round, and have some young talent that could help a possible rebuild in Arizona.

The Bengals have Chase and Higgins, the Eagles have Brown and Smith, the 49ers have Samuel, McCaffrey, and Kittle, and the Chiefs have a load of weapons at their disposal. They also have one of the best coaches and QBs to play this game.

Buffalo is not far off. Although, if they stay stagnant the window to win a Super Bowl with this current roster is closing fast. The AFC is not getting any easier. It is a win-now mode in Buffalo. Trading for DeAndre Hopkins would definitely improve their chances.
