The Green Bay Packers offense suffered a major blow this offseason. While they were able to retain Aaron Rodgers long-term, he will have some new pass catchers to throw the ball to during the 2022 season.

His top two receivers from last season, All-Pro Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, both departed this offseason. Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for a first and second-round pick, while Valdes-Scantling signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.

As things currently stand, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are atop the depth chart along with the second-year wide receiver, Amari Rodgers. That is something that has to change before the season gets started.

Many are presuming that the Packers will use some of their draft capital on a wide receiver. But, they could still look to bring in more experienced players. Is A.J. Brown someone that they could have their eyes on?

The wide receiver trade market stole a lot of the limelight this offseason despite numerous franchise quarterbacks being on the move. In addition to Adams, Tyreek Hill and Amari Cooper were also traded. Brown is someone that could also be on the move as he enters the last season on his rookie deal.

Over at Sportsnaut, they broke down what a potential deal for Brown could look like for the Packers. They are far from the only team that is looking for a bonafide No. 1 receiver, which Brown is, so Green Bay would have to come with a competitive offer.

The Packers are not afraid to spend lavishly on wide receivers, as they did make an offer to Adams that trumped the contract he signed with the Raiders. He declined that deal, but knowing they are willing to spend, is something that puts them squarely in the mix for a wide receiver that could become available.

It is unlikely that Brown would be on the move, but it is a fun exercise to discuss what a potential deal could look like. Sportsnaut believes the Packers would have to part ways with a first and second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, basically flipping the selections they received for Adams to obtain Brown.

A package such as that one would enable the Titans to fill two holes on the roster with first and second-round picks while cleaning up their salary cap. They want to be a team that punishes opponents with the run game and they will have a chance to bolster their trenches by adding those selections. This is also a deep wide receiver class, so Tennessee would find a replacement for Brown to pair with Robert Woods rather easily.

As for Green Bay, they would be getting the bonafide No. 1 receiver this offense is currently missing. Only 24-years old, Brown could be the go-to guy for the Packers for years to come. Parting ways with extra draft capital to land an established player of his caliber would be a win for the organization.
