2. Wide Receiver

This may seem strange given the Cowboys led the NFL with 431.5 yards per game in 2019. Prescott finished second in the NFL in passing yards with 4,902 and Amari Cooper finished with 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns. But yes, the Cowboys improved their wide receiver corps.

It began when they signed Cooper to a five-year, $100 million deal. Cooper chose to stay in Dallas despite having a bigger offer on the table from Washington. Yes, Cooper was already on the roster but it has to feel good to fans to have him locked up long term. Michael Gallup is a promising young receiver that also finished with north of 1,100 yards last season.

Dallas really solidified the position on night one of the draft. They might not have been looking for a wide receiver with the No. 17 pick, but one of the top prospects fell right into their lap. The Las Vegas Raiders made Henry Ruggs III the first receiver taken and the Denver Broncos opted for Jerry Jeudy. This allowed Oklahoma product CeeDee Lamb to fall all the way to Dallas. This is not some average receiver. Lamb was arguably the No. 1 receiver prospect and he will join the team that led the league in yards per game.

The Cowboys now have three solid wide receivers. Their offense has a chance to be special in 2020 if healthy. Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott will be back along with the receiving corps. This means nothing but good things for the offense.
