Cowboys: 3 reasonable expectations for Amari Cooper in 2020

Amari Cooper is fresh off of an offseason that saw him earn a massive five-year, $100 million contract from the Dallas Cowboys. While he should be excited about the money he received, he should also use it as motivation to be an even better version of himself moving forward.

During the 2019 season with the Cowboys, Cooper ended up catching 79 passes for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns. His numbers were obviously good, but there were some consistency issues.

Speaking of those consistency issues, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan had some strong words for Cooper following his extension. He called Cooper the “NFL’s biggest disappearing act” and even went so far as to call the star wideout a “turd.”

With a big contract under his belt, the Cowboys are going to need Cooper to step it up a notch. He has plenty of extra motivation to work with following the comments by Ryan and quite a few other critics. Dallas should be expecting another quality season from the 25-year-old wideout.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at three reasonable expectations the Cowboys should have for Cooper this season.
