When looking at leadership on the defense look no further than Tyrone Crawford. 2019 wasn’t the best year for him as he missed most of the season with a hip injury but has put the work in to get back on the field early in 2020.

When healthy, Crawford is a very versatile player. He can play inside at defensive tackle or shift a few feet over and rush from the edge. In seven years Crawford has been able to log 23 sacks with close to 200 tackles.

Everywhere you turn, Crawford is there. His leadership alone could line him up right next to Dontari Poe to take on the brunt of the centers and guards of the league leaving edge rushers such as Demarcus Lawrence and Everson Griffen left to deal with a single tackle.

Earlier in the spring, plenty of Cowboys fans were calling for the release of Crawford due to a high salary and heavy cap hit. Now, with McCoy lost for the season, Crawford is worth every cent and Cowboys fans should be thankful he wasn’t let go.
