Tyrone Crawford
Tyrone Crawford has been on the Cowboys’ roster since 2012 and a starter on the defensive line since 2014. He was a defensive end last season and suffered a season-ending hip injury. In 2018, he started 15 games for the Cowboys.
Heading into 2020, Crawford would be set as a starter once again if the team decides to keep him around. Robert Quinn is now in Chicago and Dallas did not draft a replacement in 2020. Randy Gregory has not yet been reinstated by the league and Dallas added Aldon Smith this offseason.
Crawford has been on the fence since last offseason. Many thought that they could cut their veteran lineman in 2019, but he was able to survive the season. In 2020, Crawford is set to make $9.1 million. If the Cowboys decide to let him go, they would save $8 million from that deal. This is an extremely intriguing situation for Dallas.
It all comes down to what the team feels comfortable doing. This would put pressure on Smith opposite Demarcus Lawrence. Crawford is the No. 1 player to look when Dallas begins making cuts prior to camp.
